First: I have never done any photography of this sort. I know you want to improve and I suspect you will not get any critiques from someone with real experience of such work, so I will focus on what I do know, such as composition and focus. I can certainly appreciate what it must have been like to get the ant in such good focus. Could you have done even better? The head and body parts are all in the same plain and so in focus, but the depth of field is very limited. If you had used a slower shutter speed and a higher f stop, you might have been able to increase the depth of field enough to bring more of the legs into focus, but I doubt it would have added much of the antenna. The biggest problem with focus is the food which is seriously blurred and does need sharper focus. Composition is quite good considering the challenges you were dealing with. One final detail: since the ant is feeding, it would be better if you had waited for him to take a bite. That way we would know exactly what he is doing rather than having to be told. Good work.
